Forget waiting for sweater weather: Sarasota, Venice, and the Bradenton area are ready to celebrate with pumpkins, live music, sparkling waterways, and evenings worth sharing.

From October through December 2026, the calendar offers plenty of reasons to gather friends, bring the grandchildren, or turn an ordinary weekend into a new tradition.

October: pumpkins and a playful scare

Hunsader Farms in Bradenton has its remaining Pumpkin Festival weekends scheduled for October 17–18 and October 24–25, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The farm's October 10–11 weekend was canceled because of rain, so use the updated dates when planning your visit.

At 5500 County Road 675, the festival combines pumpkins, crafts, live entertainment, hayrides, and farm attractions for an autumn outing with something for several generations.

Admission is $15 for ages 10 and older, $5 for children ages 5–9, and free for children under 5, with $5 parking.

Bring cash for admission and parking, and budget separately for activities carrying additional charges.

For a Halloween-season evening in Sarasota, Ghostbusters in Concert reaches the Van Wezel on October 29 at 7 p.m.

The 1984 movie plays on a large screen while an orchestra performs its score live, putting a musical twist on a familiar favorite.

November: the holiday curtain rises

Cirque Dreams Holidaze arrives at the Van Wezel on November 21 at 7 p.m., combining circus arts, theatrical spectacle, and holiday music.

The venue lists tickets from $49 to $125, with all-in pricing and prices subject to change.

It's an invitation to begin celebrating before the Thanksgiving leftovers disappear.

Then Venice takes its turn with The Mayor's Hometown Christmas on November 27, from 5 to 7 p.m., at Centennial Park, 200 West Venice Avenue.

Expect a tree lighting, local choirs including The Venice Chorale, and time with Santa, along with opportunities to shop and dine downtown.

Bring chairs or blankets and make the gathering an easygoing family evening.

December: music, markets, and lights on the water

The European Holiday Market runs December 2–6 at the Bradenton Area Convention Center, 1 Haben Boulevard in Palmetto.

The planned mix of artisan gifts, seasonal food and drink, live performances, and hands-on activities brings European-inspired traditions to the Gulf Coast.

This is a ticketed outing; follow the organizer's booking page for current admission options.

Venice's Christmas Boat Parade of Lights follows on December 5, with a 6 p.m. starting signal.

The listed route runs south along the Intracoastal Waterway from above Albee Road Bridge, turning around before Circus Bridge.

Sarasota's Holiday Boat Parade of Lights is scheduled for December 12 on Sarasota Bay, presented by Suncoast Charities for Children and Marina Jack.

Admission is free, with recommended viewing at Bayfront Park and Marina Jack; restaurant dining requires advance reservations.

Bring an unwrapped toy or book to support local children and families, and check the organizer's updates for the parade's start time.

Sarasota Orchestra's Happy Holley Days fills Holley Hall, 709 North Tamiami Trail, with seasonal favorites December 9–13, led by conductor Tamara Dworetz.

The program includes the Hanukkah Festival Overture and Leroy Anderson's Sleigh Ride, with tickets listed starting at $50.

Choose 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday or Friday, 7:30 p.m. on Thursday or Saturday, or 4 p.m. on Sunday.

On December 12, the Manatee River Holiday Boat Parade adds another waterfront celebration between the Bradenton and Palmetto communities.

Check the parade organizer's updates for viewing arrangements and timing before choosing your spot.

Back at the Van Wezel, A Very Broadway Christmas brings a live band, dancers, and Broadway performers together December 21 at 7 p.m., with listed tickets from $49 to $99.

New Year's Eve: send 2026 off with a smile

Florida Studio Theatre's Resolution Rewind brings a year-end improv celebration to Bowne's Lab, 1265 First Street in Sarasota, on December 31 at 7:30 p.m.

The show revisits favorite games and sketches from 2026 and invites audiences to join a New Year toast.

In Venice, the city's calendar lists Sharky's on the Pier New Year's Eve Celebration for December 31, from 7 p.m. to 1 a.m. on January 1, 2027.

Check with the venue for admission, reservations, and the final entertainment lineup.

Sarasota's signature Pineapple Drop is referenced in the theatre's New Year's Eve plans, but the full December 31, 2026 event schedule remains unverified.

Check official updates before making countdown or fireworks plans.

Make room for the good stuff

Reserve performances early and recheck outdoor events before leaving, especially when weather could affect waterfront plans.

A concert, a downtown gathering, and a boat parade can become three simple ways to share the season.

The best holiday itinerary leaves room for the people who make every outing brighter.
